The Samsonite Pro-DLX 5 Spinner S as the basis of the trip
The Samsonite Pro-DLX 5 Spinner S constitutes the rolling base of the whole. Its flexible format, four wheels, telescopic handle and front pockets correspond well to the use of a Cabin suitcase for business trip.
Strength is his first strength. On a trip to Japan, we loaded it to more than 30 kg and placed on it the Biz2GB, which itself filled to about 20 kg. It was pulled by the handle under different weather conditions, transported in stairs and escalators, and suffered several falls. Despite these particularly demanding conditions, the wheels, handles and structure are still in place.
Its four wheels ride very well at airports, but also on less regular surfaces like pavements. Even if filled strongly, it remains easy to move. Its main compartment accepts a large amount of clothing and equipment: it has even happened that we have to compress the suitcase with the weight of the body to succeed in closing it.
These situations reflect our personal experience and the resistance we have seen, but they go beyond normal use. We do not recommend to reproduce these overloads or to mount on the suitcase: the limits of the product and the weight and gauge authorized by the airline must be respected.
The same caution applies to any expandable cabin suitcase: permitted dimensions vary by airline and fare. Check the applicable allowance before every departure, especially when the suitcase is full or expanded.
The Samsonite Biz2Go Daytrip 15.6 inches for the day
The Samsonite Biz2Go Daytrip 15,6 pouces takes over when the suitcase stays at the accommodation. Samsonite announces a format of 44 × 33 × 20 cm, a volume of 22.5 liters and a computer compartment up to 15.6 inches.
However, the Biz2Go is less versatile than the suitcase. Its design is clearly oriented towards professional travel: computers, cables and documents can easily find their place, but the clothing area imposes more constraints for tourist use.
Its opening becomes impractical when the bag is not fully placed on a hard and stable surface. Accessing clothing on a train, airport or small space therefore requires more organization. Nevertheless, we have used it in Japan and it has fulfilled its mission, provided that we anticipate the time and place to open it.

A Japanese Samsonite Crossbody bag for essentials
The third piece is a Samsonite Crossbody black shoulder bag bought in Japan. Its label bears the reference 15930-1041 : 1041 corresponds to the black colour, but the exact name of the old Japanese collection could not be confirmed in the public catalogues.
So we voluntarily designate it as "Samsonite Crossbody shoulder bag – Japanese model 15930-1041". This formulation allows to identify it without assigning an uncertain collection.
The different attachments placed at the rear allow to change its position and to wear it in several ways depending on the journey. Its material was very strong and scratch-resistant, without significant wear after a year.
Its completely black appearance is discreet and universal. It does not display any external sign of value when it cost us more than 140 euros of memory. This sobriety is significant when you carry your papers to places of high use.
Its zipped compartments and interior pockets are really practical on a daily basis. They separate passports, wallets, telephones and other important documents, while keeping them close to the body and safe.
Balance sheet after one year of regular use
Across several journeys, the three pieces proved cohesive, discreet and highly adaptable. The set can suit a business day, a short break or a trip of up to two weeks, provided you stay within the carrier’s weight limits.
Strengths and the Main Limit
- a very solid suitcase, stable and pleasant to ride on different floors ;
- a significant capacity to arrange stays of up to two weeks;
- a discreet and resistant bag, with effective pockets to secure documents;
- a true modularity, each baggage that can be used alone or with others;
- a more specialized Biz2Go bag, excellent for work but less convenient to access clothes on the move.
The best professional set is not necessarily the one that offers the most pockets. After one year, the latter is distinguished above all by the complementarity of the three formats and by the confidence that the suitcase inspires when used in difficult conditions.
Our opinion on Samsonite combo after a year
The association keeps its promises: Pro-DLX 5 manages the stay and supports a demanding use, the Biz2Go 15,6 pouces efficient organization of professional equipment and Crossbody japonaise 15930-1041 keep the essentials accessible and discreet.
Our reserve mainly concerns the Biz2Go, whose opening of the clothing compartment requires a stable surface and is less suitable for improvised tourist use. For the rest, this combo remains our most versatile Samsonite solution for alternating work, transport and long-term travel.
